Employee Responsibility
It is of utmost importance to us that our employees feel comfortable at Intersnack and enjoy working on the team.
Employee Responsibility is a fundamental aspect of our corporate philosophy and culture.
It covers three main areas:
- People development
- Health and safety
- Transparent communication
Examples of what we have achieved so far

We begin at home
We do not want to demand anything of our suppliers that we do not demand of ourselves. To ensure compliance, we have involved the internationally renowned auditing firm SGS to perform social audits based on Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) standards at all our production facilities.

Training and development with IWS
We believe that providing employees with the opportunity to achieve their full potential not only increases overall employee satisfaction and happiness; it also helps us to sustainably eliminate losses and improve manufacturing and supply chain processes. This is the philosophy behind the Intersnack Work System (IWS) - our continuous improvement programme which we apply across all our sites in a standardized way and thus establish 'one way of working'. IWS has two main objectives: 100% employee ownership and a zero-loss mindset. Guided by these principles, it integrates best practices from traditional continuous improvement tools such as Lean Six Sigma or Total Productive Maintenance and Organizational Development. This way, IWS will lead to breakthrough improvements in the areas of Quality and Health & Safety.

Health is number one
We have achieved a very high level of health and safety standards in all our production facilities. It is our stated intention to build on this success and to continue making improvements. All our factories are certified by OHSAS 18001 or ISO 450001, standards for occupational health and safety management, and have established an integrated KPI reporting.

Transparent communication
Intersnack publishes several internal newsletters, including the IWS Newsletter, the Project One Newsletter and Sustainability Newsletter. The latter focuses on specific sustainability projects, challenges and achievements to boost exchange among our diverse business locations. We also maintain an online database to share best practice in environmental management and to learn from each other. This not only helps us to optimize processes, the possibility to speak up also promotes employee engagement.
